When philanthropy shows up on Capitol Hill, we amplify the voices of communities across the Northwest.

Foundations on the Hill (FOTH) is the premier annual opportunity for Philanthropy Northwest members to bring our region’s priorities directly to Congress. Each year, funders from across our six-state network travel to Washington, D.C., to meet face-to-face with lawmakers, share stories from our region and advocate for policies that expand resources for underinvested communities.

Why it Matters

Policy decisions made in D.C. have real consequences at home. From promoting a robust democracy to enhancing federal support for the charitable sector, these conversations shape the conditions for thriving, equitable Northwest communities. By showing up together, our collective voice carries more power and influence with policymakers.

What to Expect

Direct access: Meet with members of Congress and their staff to raise their understanding about how philanthropy is advancing equity and resilience across the Northwest.

Stronger connections: Build relationships with fellow funders who are passionate about advocacy and systems change.

Real impact: Elevate the issues that matter most to your community and help influence national policy decisions.

Be Part of Our Collective Voice

Foundations on the Hill is more than a trip to Washington; it’s how we demonstrate the power of philanthropy to drive meaningful change. Whether you’re new to advocacy or a seasoned policy leader, your voice matters. Together, we can be a powerful force to put our region’s priorities on the federal agenda.

Snapshots from our Delegations

This was very well organized. Philanthropy Northwest did an outstanding job not just with facilitating, but how our delegation was able to understand the advocacy topics that were important to individual organizations.
