Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect from the virtual conference?
Like all of our conferences, we are prioritizing inspiring speakers, time to connect with your peers, local artists and skill-building opportunities. We are narrowing the timeframe so that you can stay focused on our content while still having time in your workday for other tasks. Lastly, we will have ample resources to help you get equipped and onboarded to our platform, Hopin.
Who should attend the Philanthropy Northwest Annual Conference?
All staff or trustees of philanthropies are welcome to join. Participants include corporate giving offices, private and public foundations, community foundations, tribal grantmaking entities, nonprofit grantmaking organizations, government grantmaking offices and impact investors. This is a peer-to-peer learning opportunity for funders. Bring your whole team! Since no one has to travel, we encourage you to register as many staff and trustees as possible. Please contact Elyse Gordon if you are uncertain of your eligibility.
What does it mean that Philanthropy Northwest members need to be in good standing to get the member rates?
We are delighted to offer member rates to current members of Philanthropy Northwest. To be in good standing, your annual membership dues should be up to date. A non-member rate will apply if dues are not paid by July 15. Email our membership team for help with dues, membership questions and payment.
How do I suggest content for the conference?
We strive to build a conference program that has a little something for everyone, and we rely on the knowledge of our network members to suggest what’s most pressing for you and your work! We know that we’ll spend a great deal of time reflecting on COVID-19, anti-black racism and how we rebuild our sector and our communities in ways that are more equitable moving forward. Got an idea for conference sessions? Share your ideas with Nancy Sanabria, our director of learning strategies.
