The goal of the Alaska Funders Group is to share information about critical issues and opportunities and to build relationships that inspire collaboration and change in Alaska. The agenda for each teleconference is created by participants, for participants.
PLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT IS 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. Alaska Time
The theme for this meeting will be showcasing collaborations and networks among our sector and with other sectors. Join us for an exploration on current issues, trend and opportunities with 90% by 2020, Recover Alaska and the Alaska Resilience Initiative. Our speakers, include June Sobocinski, United Way of Anchorage, Tiffany Hall, Recover Alaska and Trevor Storrs, Alaska Children's Trust, will participate in a Fishbowl conversation, a method that avoids "presenting" to the audience and enables Q&A among peers.
We will be joined by two guests, Solynn McCurdy, Senior Manager Community Relations, Premera Blue Cross, who share about Premera's new investment interests in Alaska and Maya Thornell-Sandifor, Director of Learning Strategies, Philanthropy Northwest, who will lead a discussion about bringing Philanthropy Institute: Skills for Emerging Practitioners to Alaska.
Participation to the Alaska Funders Group is open to any organization, collective or individual committed to advancing the practice of philanthropy in the region. Membership in Philanthropy Northwest is not required.
We are grateful to the Alaska Community Foundation and The Philanthropy Hub for hosting us.
