This past June, the Washington Census Equity Fund, managed by Philanthropy Northwest, and the Regional Fund, managed by the Seattle Foundation, released a combined $1.5m in community grants across the state to support census outreach activities. Additionally, the Office of Financial Management will be releasing $7.5m in state funding to selected organizations in early Fall to further advance census activities. With the support of private contributions, The Washington Census Equity Fund is pleased to have the resources to conduct a second (and final) round of funding in the months ahead and is reaching out to community organizations and leaders to seek input as the funding guidelines are underway. Philanthropy Northwest, as manager of the Fund, will be hosting a listening session call to collect input on how best to engage in 2020 Census outreach and education, and the remaining gaps in funding.
