El Centro de la Raza carried out two research studies as a part of the 2017 Community Needs Assessment. Members of the research team and Steering Committee will brief Philanthropy Northwest members on the studies’ findings, and provide recommendations for funders on how to address to the current needs of the Latino community in our region. The report summarizes the current needs of Latinos in Seattle and South King County, and used a Community Based Participatory Research approach to survey over 200 people and conduct five focus groups. While the results of the study are specific to King County, the themes and methods of data collection are relevant to funders across the Northwest.

Presenters:

  • Lauren Kastanas, Grants Coordinator, El Centro de la Raza
  • Noelia Flores, MPH candidate, University of Washington
  • Theresa Fujiwara, Associate Vice President, United Way of King County

This will be both a virtual OR in-person event, with space available in our Seattle, WA offices. Please register even if you will not be able to attend in person. All participants will receive instructions for logging into the Briefing remotely, or in person.
