Over the past few years, we as a funding community in Pierce County, have been grappling with how best to support the many members of our communities who are faced with the experience of homelessness. Coming up this month in October you will have two opportunities to engage in some learning as a group and thinking about the systems that impact homelessness on a national and local level, and specifically in the area of youth and young adult homelessness. This meeting is the first opportunity.
1) Monday, October 23 from 1-3pm at the REACH Center - Please join us for an opportunity to hear from Funders Together to End Homelessness, a national network of funders, whose mission is to support strategic, innovative and effective solutions to homelessness. Casey Trupin from the Raikes Foundation will also be joining us. We will be meeting at the REACH center in Tacoma, 714 South 27th Street, 1st floor, Tacoma, WA 98409. Please register for this event here.
Coming up next…
2) On Tuesday, October 31 from 1-3pm at the University of Washington Tacoma - An invitation and registration for this event will be forthcoming. Stay tuned for an invitation from A Way Home Washington to our group for a gathering at University of Washington Tacoma for an information sharing and learning session with our fellow funders and community partners in King County who have been working over the years on strategies to end homelessness for youth and young adults. An invitation and registration for this event will be forthcoming.
Thank you for engaging with us as we work together to understand how the current existing efforts to address the complex issues impacting youth and young adult homelessness all fit together, and how we can play in role in advancing the work to end homelessness. Please stay tuned for more information. In the meantime, please contact Lyn Hunter at email@example.com for questions.
