SkillUp Washington would like to invite you to join them for a thoughtful Lunch and Learn from 12 to 1:30pm on July 15th.  Jan Yoshiwara, Deputy Executive Director of Education from the State Board of Community and Technical Colleges, will be leading the discussion on the newly released Washington population and employment data for 2010-2030. She will discuss population trends, projections and implications for community and technical college participation. The goal of the conversation is to explore how Washington state can increase the share of our state's residents with higher levels of training and education attainment by serving more people who do not currently go to college.
Highlights will include:
Slower enrollment growth, especially among new high school graduates.
Regional differences for population growth, educational attainment, race/ethnicity, and limited English.
Future skill requirements needed for employment demand substantial growth in long certificates and 2 year degrees, creating a widening gap between employment demand and community and technical college supply.
Space is limited for this Lunch and Learn so please be sure to RSVP to Ashley Plaga ( to guarantee your spot!  Lunch will be provided.
