Blue Mountain Community Foundation and Sherwood Trust invite you to join their third annual tour of the communities across the Walla Walla Valley from Milton-Freewater, Oregon to Dayton, Washington. Come dig into this part of our region from September 25-27, 2019 and see how our rural communities collaborate and innovate. This will be a fun and interactive tour to explore rural philanthropy and learn from and network with local nonprofits, community leaders and your fellow grantmakers. The deadline for registration is August 26.
The tour covers the communities across the Walla Walla Valley from Milton-Freewater, Oregon to Dayton, Washington. Our schedule adjusts, as possible, to meet the particular interests of the participating funders. Previous topics included: efforts to end youth homelessness, youth support in Dayton’s Club, arts collaborations, early learning and the Community Resilience Initiative, community problem solving with Community Council, regional history in Milton-Freewater and Walla Walla, economic development efforts in Milton-Freewater and Dayton, and so much more!
In addition to having amazing nonprofits, Walla Walla also has great wine! The tour provides time to meet the people who are our region’s greatest assets over dinner and wine at some of our best local restaurants.
