Role Responsibilities: 

Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of External Relations, the Associate Director of Annual Giving plays a key role on SCT’s development team which includes broad responsibility for the design and execution of annual strategies that attract, renew and retain donors at the major giving level and beyond. This position deeply collaborates with all members of the development team which includes the Individual Giving Manager, Institutional Relations Officer and Development Coordinator, as well as the marketing team. This position oversees the Individual Giving Manager in setting the annual strategy for broad-based giving initiatives, including the stewardship plan for mid-level donors. This position is responsible for the successful coordination and execution of major fundraising and stewardship events and working with the Director of External Relations to create alignment across development activities and processes.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

  • Work with the Director of External Relations to develop and implement a comprehensive annual strategy across all development activities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive cultivation and stewardship plan for major gifts ($2,500+) by conducting prospect research to identify, qualify and manage donors.
  • Oversee the Individual Giving Manager in implementing broad-based initiatives for mid-level donors ($1,000-$2,499) with focus on growing major giving portfolio, and provide guidance on donor strategies in $1-2,499 giving level.
  • Collaborate with Marketing/Communication teams to identify and develop collateral + campaign needs.
  • Oversee the successful implementation of fundraising and stewardship events, including the major fundraising event to generate $350K+.
  • Coordinate with the business office and/or the Director of Finance on proposals and reports for donors and prospects.
  • Use CRM to track activities and pull reports, and support accurate data input processes. Related skills in communication, marketing, and event production


Candidate Qualifications: 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have 2+ years successful solicitation of major gifts at five and six-figure giving level.
  • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising with management experience and understanding of development activities, including the identification, solicitation, and acquisition of individual, major, corporate funders and/or sponsorships.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement project plans and timelines through completion, and monitor and track budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong, hands-on experience in campaign management and event coordination.
  • Attention to detail with strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Expertise in MS Office and Tessitura

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:  This role will remain remote until we resume onsite work. As we ramp up onsite work, you will enjoy working in a dynamic, non-profit environment. Experience or interest in theatre or youth arts education is necessary. We require a full background check for all employees.
