The Executive Director of Development for the LSCFB, works under the direction and vision of the Executive Board; with close supervision and collaboration of the Board President and Treasurer to develop community relations that present the needs of the Food Bank to the public, Leads and guides the Board Development committee to apply for all operational grants, as needed, in support of our core mission and is responsible for creating and bringing in diverse revenue streams to fund our mission while maintaining proper fiscal management of the organization.
• Ensure positive image of the organization by establishing, finding, and maintaining good relationships with community members, leaders, and potential donors. • Facilitate regular publicity for the organization by managing electronic and print media messaging including press releases, social media posts. • Collaborate with other community resource partners and Administrative Director of Operations to update and create programs that ensure clients' needs are being met and determine appropriate partnerships to eliminate overlap of efforts and services. Partner with the Administrative Director of Operations to negotiate and ensure adherence to partner, grocery store and lead agency contracts. • Find funding and develop projects for the betterment of the organization and the advancement of the mission and values of the food bank. • Oversee collaboratively with the Administrative Director of Operations to ensure food bank compliance with all applicable county, state, and federal regulations pertaining to the safe handling and distribution of foods and proper training of volunteers and employees. Review with the Administrative Director of Operations food bank operations to guarantee smooth food bank service and adherence to Board policies. • Work with board finance committee in creating yearly budget of operations • Work closely with the Board Treasurer and accountant to maintain all financial records, to ensure yearly business registrations and taxes are paid and develop budgets as well as demonstrate GAAP fiscal control. • Responsible for management of mail and recording of purchases, bill payments and donations. • Develop and review strategic plan to raise vital funds for LSCFB in a cost-effective and time efficient manner by establishing a structure for effective fundraising. • Coordinate fundraising events/activities and secure funds to adequately cover operational expenses, including but not limited to: • Grant Writing • Fundraising events • Individual donor requests • Establishing an endowment fund • Oversee all employee’s performance, developing strategies for attaining the core values expressed by the Board of Directors and Organization by-laws. Manage Payroll and ensure alignment with all state and federal personnel employment law. • Submit monthly report reflecting current the state of the organization to the board at monthly Board meeting.
• Knowledge of “QuickBooks Online”, “PayPal” payments, “Strype”, “Little Green Light” preferred but can train as needed. • Flexibility and quick thinking, with creative problem-solving ability. • Team player, restorative, and collaborative leadership a must, with goal of creating trusted team leaders.
