Founded in 2021, Evergreen Social Impact is a nonprofit fiscal sponsor organization that provides fiduciary services, including governance, funds management, and other administrative services to projects with social-impact missions. We can act as long-term administrative home for tax-exempt and public/private partnership entities, or as a ‘nonprofit incubator’ for new charitable projects that are in start-up mode.  By providing an administrative and operations hub for our sponsored projects, we give them the freedom to focus on their missions.  We are a small but mighty team that values flexibility, dependability, a can-do approach to our work, respect for ourselves and others, and a healthy work-life balance.


The Grants & Contracts Manager is a key team member who supports the Director of Operations & Project Engagement and sponsored project program managers in the management of incoming grants and contracts for ESI and its sponsored projects, as well as outgoing contracts with clients, vendors, service providers, and grantees.  The successful candidate is highly organized, analytical, efficient, thorough, team- and customer-service oriented, has razor-sharp attention to detail, is a transparent, clear communicator, and is adaptable and willing to wear multiple hats.  This is a new staff position.

This is a regular, full-time (36 hours per week) staff position with benefits.

This is a remote position. Washington State residence is required.



Role Responsibilities: 

Grants and Contracts Management and Compliance

For incoming and outgoing ESI and sponsored project clients, funders, grantees, vendors, and service providers, and under the direction and guidance of the Director of Operations & Project Engagement and sponsored project program management:

  • Ensure compliance with ESI Procurement Policy; manage RFP process(es) as needed.
  • Prepare outgoing contracts for Director of Operations & Project Engagement review using information provided by project staff; work with sponsored project management on initiation of outgoing grant agreements.
  • Track all outgoing contracts and grant agreements - initiation, execution, information collection (W-9, banking info, certificates of insurance, etc).
  • Track all incoming contracts from receipt to execution.
  • Work with sponsored projects to prepare and submit grant proposals to funders, track awards, and comply with terms, conditions, and reporting requirements on awarded grants.
  • Work with sponsored project program staff on administration of outgoing grants, including contract preparation, award tracking, and report reviews.
  • Track all aspects of compliance/deliverables for incoming and outgoing contracts; track deliverables and reporting deadlines; and ensure that required reports are submitted/received timely.
  • Generate and track contract and grant amendments as needed.
  • Support the Director of Operations & Project Engagement in the development, implementation, review, and updating of grant and contract management policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Candidate Qualifications: 
  • Experience with, and/or commitment to racial equity, social justice, and cultural humility.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in non-profit operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in grants/contracts management, including the management of government (federal, state, local) grants and contracts, is strongly preferred.
  • Successful grantwriting experience, and the ability to edit proposal narratives, is a plus.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to plan, execute, evaluate, and report on complex projects and tasks.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and balance priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to track detailed information and complete detailed, complex tasks accurately and efficiently, while also paying attention to the ‘big picture’.
  • Flexible approach to work and ability to manage ambiguity in the work environment; ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative.
  • Ability to listen deeply and communicate proactively, clearly, transparently, and diplomatically; excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit administration, public administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).   


  • Must be a resident of Washington State.
  • Must be able to pass a Washington State and national criminal history check.
  • Must have access to a source of transportation for occasional travel within the State of Washington.
