Senior Advisor, The Giving Practice

Anne brings 20+ years of experience in foundation, nonprofit and corporate organizational management, development and governance, strategic communications and philanthropic advising. She loves connecting people, ideas and resources. As a senior advisor, Anne focuses on a range of strategic advisory work, which includes conducting organizational assessments to develop and refresh internal systems, structures and human resources, as well as running comprehensive programmatic and executive searches, developing grantmaking programs and systems and convening grantees. Prior to joining The Giving Practice, she led multi-generational family foundations in their development of shared visions and strategies at Arabella Advisors, managed a multimillion-dollar charitable giving budget and provided personalized grantmaking consultation and board training to 240 top executives in the banking sector. As a program officer at Seattle Foundation, Anne worked to increase access to resources and transparency in the field for communities of color, immigrants, refugees, low-income families, women and children. Additionally, she was the first employee at a Seattle-based start-up that recently sold for $120 million.

Anne served on the boards of Hedgebrook and The Service Board, for many years, along with funding review committees for King County Communities of Opportunity, ArtsFund and the City of Seattle, Office of Arts and Culture and was a founding member of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy’s Pacific Northwest Chapter and DC-based Cherry Blossom Giving Circle. In 2016, Anne returned to her hometown of Seattle after seven years in Washington, D.C. and New York City. She spends the rest of her time as a constant learner navigating the daily adventures of parenting two children and getting her hands dirty with natural dyes, traditional Japanese textile design and printmaking. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College.
