Marissa brings a wealth of knowledge of philanthropy and health equity to her senior analyst role with The Giving Practice. Through her work, she has seen the impact of the social determinants of health on marginalized communities and the power of philanthropy in addressing the root causes of health disparities.
Prior to joining Philanthropy Northwest, Marissa interned at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation where she used storytelling and multimedia to highlight the power of innovation in global health. She also served as an AmeriCorps VISTA at the Pike Place Market Foundation where she worked to establish and maintain food security for the Pike Place community.
Marissa holds a Masters in Public Health from the University of Washington. In her free time, she enjoys finding treasures in thrift stores and exploring Seattle's culinary food scene.
