A recent immigrant from India, Pragya’s two-decade-long career spans over different sectors including technology, higher education and nonprofits at diverse organizations in the U.S. and India. This rich work experience helped her cultivate unique skills for working with people from diverse backgrounds. She is passionate about building and fostering inclusive work cultures and teams by co-creating shared values that are aligned to an organization's mission, vision and values and rooted in racial equity and social justice. She has an exceptionally strong ability to balance tasks and relationships while dealing gracefully with unexpected changes and creatively overcoming obstacles. This along with her commitment as a lifelong learner has made her a trusted advisor to leaders and executives.

In her current role as Director of People and Operations, Pragya serves as the strategic leader for enterprise-wide people and operations needs at Philanthropy Northwest. Prior to this role, Pragya headed human resources at a local nonprofit that serves homeless youth, young adults and unaccompanied immigrants. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she led HR practice at this essential services provider with compassion and agility to ensure service continuity, while keeping safety and health of the critical workers at forefront of all practices.

Pragya resides on the occupied Duwamish Territory with her husband and two sons. When not working, you can find her exploring the abundant natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest or cooking Indian food for family and friends. Pragya is actively involved at her sons’ schools and currently serves on the PTSA board as a DEI co-chair. In this role, she works to help amplify underrepresented voices and viewpoints and create a school community that embraces diversity, ensures equity and fosters inclusion.
