Perspective on Place

As a regional network, Philanthropy Northwest is deeply committed to our value of place and to honoring the lands, cultures and diversity of our region. We are hosting PNW26 at the Dena’ina Center, named for the Dena’ina people whose lands we will be gathering on in Anchorage.

Dena’ina means “First People” and refers to the original Athabascan inhabitants of the Anchorage and Cook Inlet region, who were the first Alaskans 10,000 years ago. Dena’ina culture is honored and reflected throughout the space through Indigenous artwork, room names and natural decor. Panoramic windows bring the outdoors in and offer unique views of the Alaska Range, Denali, Cook Inlet and the Chugach Mountains.

PNW26 attendees will also have opportunities to explore Anchorage and its surrounding communities through learning tours as well as group dine around experiences.
