Our PNW26 conference is the gathering for philanthropic partners across Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming and beyond. For five decades, Philanthropy Northwest has been more than an organization; we’ve been a community, a trusted partner and a peer collective that is committed to transforming ourselves and our sector. That’s right, 2026 marks 50 years of Philanthropy Northwest!
As part of our celebration of our 50th anniversary, we want to showcase work from you, the members and partners that comprise this fantastic network. We are seeking proposals for breakout sessions at the PNW26 conference October 6-8, 2026 in Anchorage, Alaska. We ask that all proposals align with one of three Philanthropy Northwest 50th anniversary learning pillars:
- Future of Philanthropy: We are looking for proposals that explore trends and movements creating greater impact for the next half-century. This includes but is not limited to advancing an inclusive and equitable democracy, funding social movements, reparative action, and innovative models and/or governance to deploy philanthropic resources beyond the structure of a foundation.
- Technology and Impact: We are looking for proposals that explore how AI, data, and digital tools are impacting the sector and communities. This includes but is not limited to the importance of data visibility, technological opportunities to enhance grantmaking processes, and potential threats and risks of incorporating tech innovations.
- Community-Centered Philanthropy: We are looking for proposals that explore shifting power and elevating local leadership. This includes but is not limited to philanthropy ceding power, giving circles, trust-based philanthropy, participatory grantmaking and equity-centered strategy.
