Amy Saxton joined The Giving Practice / PNW in 2025. She is a social impact strategist who is obsessed with learning practices that enable herself and others to become more effective and joyful humans. The multi-racial daughter of an immigrant mother from Panama and a midwestern farmer, Amy’s lens was focused early on contributing to her community and bridging differences.

With over two decades of social sector advising and operating experience including at the Bridgespan Group, as CEO of a national nonprofit organization, Summer Search and most recently as an executive at the James Irvine Foundation, Amy champions the power of strategic clarity and high-performance teams to create a more just, equitable and sustainable world.

Buoyed by her family values of dream big, be kind and do your best, Amy followed in her mother’s footsteps and immigrated with her family to Portugal in 2024 where she splits her time outside of Lisbon with visits to clients and family in the states.

She loves walking the hilly Lisbon coastline, sharpening her ear speaking Portuguese with locals and singing four-part harmonies on car rides with her opera singer husband and daughters who overwhelmingly prefer volume 11 on a scale of 1-10.
