Looking back at 2019.
No doubt 2020 has changed everything. But taking a moment to reflect, we realize that the things we did in 2019 helped Philanthropy Northwest and our network of funders be better prepared for the paradigm-shifting events of 2020. This two-minute video replaces the traditional print annual report, with an active reflection on 2019.
Who We Are and What We Do
Philanthropy Northwest is the network for philanthropists of all types working in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming. Our mission is to promote and facilitate philanthropic and cross-sector collaboration to build resilient, equitable and inclusive communities in the Pacific Northwest.
We are a philanthropic ecosystem for collective action in the Pacific Northwest.
Our New Brand
After almost 45 years of serving philanthropy, in 2019, we refreshed our brand identity to express our vision for innovative, effective and equitable philanthropy.
Our new logo represents who we are today, but also our dynamic future. It embodies the spirit of collaboration, connections and networks that make our work possible.
We’re living into our new brand and building more resilient, equitable and inclusive communities alongside our network. That’s why our tagline is:
Many missions. One community. United for change.
Our Network
Members of the Philanthropy Northwest network come from all types of philanthropic organizations across our six-state region. Here's a snapshot below. You can also:

- Access contact and organizational profile info on your fellow network members in our online member directory. The member directory is only accessible to current members who are logged in to their account.
Members in Action
In 2019 our members gathered together at in-person events (remember those?) such as Philanthropy Institute, Foundations on the Hill and our PNW19 conference in Seattle. Here are just a few 2019 memories.
