We believe transformation requires calling people in, not calling them out.

To that end, we work with members and other partners to celebrate diverse identities, make inclusivity an everyday practice and advance equitable opportunity within communities across the Northwest. Read our statement of commitment to DEI.


Together with The Giving Practice, our national consulting partner, we offer a range of diversity, equity and inclusion programs, from one-day trainings and personalized consulting services to multi-year fellowships.


DEI Cohorts

The Giving Practice facilitates cohorts of peer foundation CEOs and trustees to learn together. Through the cohorts, philanthropic leaders explore what diversity, equity and inclusion means to them and discuss ways to embed DEI into their organizations.

Racial Equity Speaker Series

We keep the conversation on racial equity front and center by inviting thought leaders to the Northwest. We host national and local leaders to talk about racism and implicit bias inherent in society’s structures and how we — individually and collectively — can shift the public narrative and promote racial equity.

Momentum Fellowship

This two-year fellowship prepares professionals from historically underrepresented communities for successful careers in the philanthropic sector. Fellows work full-time within a foundation, and are supported by coaches, professional development, networking and peer learning opportunities that help them make the most of their fellowship experience.
