About this event

The first 50 registrants will receive a free mailed copy of "An Other World," Hanif Fazal's debut publication. Please fill out this form by October 5 at 5pm PT to reserve your book. You still need to register for the event.

Join Philanthropy Northwest for a conversation with Hanif Fazal, author of his debut upcoming book, "An Other World." Hanif, the co-founder of the Center for Equity & Inclusion, wrote "An Other World" to nurture the identities of people of color, center community and prioritize our individual and collective healing and well-being.

Part social commentary, part memoir and call to action, "An Other World" offers a hopeful path forward where joy is the norm rather than struggle, where school and work are inclusive rather than exclusionary, and where Brown and Black relationships lead to a unique experience of freedom.

During this meeting we will:

  • Nurture a sense of community with one another.
  • Identify BIPOC needs within philanthropy (around equity efforts and within philanthropy as a whole).
  • Identify the role and impact of a connected community of color on individual BIPOC members and within philanthropy at large.
