About this event
Join us for this Broadband Interest Group Meeting to discover how communities are investing in their own Internet infrastructure to promote economic prosperity and improve the quality of life. Christopher Mitchell, the director of the Community Broadband Networks Initiative, will be joining us for this session. Christopher’s work focuses on helping communities ensure the networks they depend on are accountable to the community. He is a leading national expert on community broadband networks and developed the Community Broadband Map, a comprehensive map of community-owned networks.
Background
The Broadband Interest Group's goal is to gain an action-oriented understanding of the role philanthropy can play in supporting broadband access, specifically in rural, Indigenous/Native communities and communities of color in our region. This group will partner with our Tribal Broadband Learning Community, federal and state government offices, community leaders and funder networks to help our communities get improved broadband access.
