Grantmakers In Action is a cohort-style learning opportunity to plug into conversations and movements around: 

• Centering racial equity in your grantmaking; 
• Alternatives to the traditional grantmaking cycle; 
• Partnership models; and
• Power dynamics in your role and leveraging your leadership.

Session 1: Unpacking My Role and the Grant Cycle 

Session one is an opportunity to rethink your role and unlearn the conventional grantmaking cycle! We will spend time unpacking the program officer job, covering topics like driving racial equity in funding decisions and navigating ambiguity.  We will explore models to incorporate equity into your grantmaking, including concepts of participatory and trust-based practices. This session will spotlight real-world examples of funders implementing these practices, and lessons learned along the way.  There will also be time to meet your fellow cohort members and tap into the collective knowledge of our cohort!
