About this event

This session is part of a four-part curriculum and is only open to registrants of the Philanthropy 101 - Fall 2021 series. If you would like to learn more about the next Philanthropy 101 series please contact JulieAnne Behar.

Philanthropy 101 is a four-part virtual series that helps all staff new to philanthropy better understand the sector. In this interactive course, you will discover the history of philanthropy, review a foundation's leadership and governance, learn an overview of grantmaking, debate the current big issues in philanthropy and explore the various roles within philanthropy. You'll also connect with a cohort of other philanthropy professionals from across the Northwest. Philanthropy 101 takes place over four interactive online sessions designed for accessibility across our six-state region!

Session 1: Speaking the Same Language

Session one provides a broad overview of the philanthropic sector, from what motivates philanthropies to give to identifying the types of grantmakers, to discussing the role of the nonprofit sector as a service provider, and its relationship with both the private and public sectors.

Please contact JulieAnne Behar with any questions.
