Breakout Session: The Practice of Rural Philanthropy - The HOW of the Work

The intersection of rural community vitality and rural serving foundation effectiveness has garnered more attention in the past five years than in the previous 40. There are a number of factors fueling this interest — attention being paid to a “rural-urban divide”; the emergence of hundreds of rural serving healthcare conversion foundations as well as a growing field of scholarship and advocacy about the need for a field of rural philanthropic practice distinct from urban strategies. Philanthropy Northwest is supporting the growth of this important discussion through a series of webinars focused on rural issues and practices featuring funders and practitioners from around the country. Join us for a “Best Of” session with some of the speakers and issues that generated the most audience engagement during the past year.
