Foundations are increasingly seeking to invest in BIPOC and low-income rural communities to advance equity work. However, this work often occurs in challenging contexts – particularly in regions where there is organized opposition actively working against creating equitable, thriving communities for all. In this session, participants will hear from rural community leaders who are working to advance equity and the challenges they face. Participants will also be introduced to Neighborhood Funders Group’s funder toolkit on resourcing rural organizing work and what additional steps foundations can take to commence or deepen their equity work in rural areas. Whether you are just starting to explore how to invest in rural communities or equity-advancing work, or are deeply engaged and want to learn more – we invite you to join us.
