Opening Workshop: Identifying Dominant Narratives

Opening Workshop: Identifying Dominant Narratives

Get energized with the first interactive workshop session of the Member Retreat led by Storytellers for Change, a social impact consulting group dedicated to designing learning experiences, strategies and projects to help people, organizations and communities imagine, craft and share stories to build an equitable world. Our opening workshop will examine dominant narratives, or “stock stories,” where they come from and how they’ve shaped our sector.

“The only way to undo racism is to consistently identify and describe it – and then dismantle it." - Ibram X. Kendi

Workshop Series Description: Stories and narratives, and storytellers themselves, play a critical role in shaping culture, systems and how we frame our priorities and possibilities. Through a combination of experiential learning, critical dialogues and art-based activities, we will harvest our collective wisdom to craft new approaches to advance equity and justice in our sector.
