This session will illustrate a powerful example of Trust-Based Philanthropy in action - Headwaters Foundation's unique GO! Grants Program. In its first five years, Headwaters (based in Missoula, Montana) awarded 398 quick-turnaround General Operating grants to 200 mission-aligned nonprofits in rural areas and the Flathead Reservation in Western Montana. This session aims to share stories and valuable lessons learned from this unconventional philanthropic experiment.
