Breakout Session: Rest, Trust and Transformation - When Black Women Lead

Breakout Session: Rest, Trust and Transformation - When Black Women Lead

In over two decades, barely 1% of Washington Women's Foundation’s $20 million in giving went to organizations led by Black women. In 2020, the foundation committed to repairing that neglect. Learn how the foundation addressed this dismissal of Black women leaders in the nonprofit sector by integrating participatory grantmaking and trust-based philanthropic practices into their reparation efforts. This session will provide attendees with a comprehensive roadmap for using these practices within their own foundations.
