Youth are knowledgeable key stakeholders in their communities. Investing in youth-led philanthropy and initiatives can help foundations ensure their work remains relevant and responsive to the realities facing communities. This session will highlight the impacts of two grant programs: youth-led grantmaking through Oregon Community Foundation's Community 101 program and investments in youth organizing and leadership development through Gray Family Foundation's Youth Leadership for the Environment Initiative. These efforts engage youth in rural/frontier parts of Oregon and youth engaged with organizations led by and accountable to Black, Indigenous, Latine and other frontline communities. Session participants will have the opportunity to learn from funders and community leaders in this work and brainstorm strategies they can implement in their own programs and portfolios.
Join this session if you are interested in Equity-Centered Philanthropic Practices and Rural.
