We will head to the University Center theater for a special film screening and discussion with Ivan MacDonald, an Emmy award-winning filmmaker and enrolled member of the Blackfeet Tribe in Montana. Ivan will share a selection of curated clips from several of his films including “When They Were Here,” “Bring Them Home” and more. “When They Were Here” is a documentary focused on the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls crisis in the state of Montana. “Bring Them Home” tells the story of a small group of Blackfoot people and their mission to establish the first wild buffalo herd on their ancestral territory since the species’ near-extinction a century ago, and is narrated by Academy Award-nominated Blackfeet / Nez Perce actor Lily Gladstone.
