About this event

Please join the virtual Q1 Alaska Funders Group meeting. We will hear from Erik O’Brien from the Denali Commission in the first half. Erik will give an update on federal stimulus money for broadband and opportunities for Alaska to apply.

The second half of the meeting will be a shared discussion on building a pipeline of diverse (specifically Black, Indigenous, and people of color) leadership in Alaska and how the philanthropic community can support this.

This meeting is from 9:30-11:30 am Alaska Standard Time.

About the meeting:
Eligibility:
Participation in this meeting is open to philanthropic organizations that are currently making grants in Alaska. This includes private and family foundations, corporate foundations and giving programs, community and public foundations, tribal corporations and nations, governmental grantmaking programs and CDFI institutions with a philanthropic focus. You do not need to be a Philanthropy Northwest member to participate but do need to represent an organizational philanthropic institution. It is not appropriate for non-profit organizations or individuals to attend. If you are unsure about your eligibility, please contact Danielle Crystal

Background: Philanthropy Northwest supports the Alaska Funders Group, a network of our members and other grantmakers who fund in Alaska. The group meets throughout the year to share information, learn from each other, and get to know their peers in the Alaska funding community. Please contact group co-chairs Alexandra McKay, Rasmuson Foundation, and Elizabeth Ripley, Mat-Su Health Foundation, to propose meeting agenda topics.

Please contact Danielle Crystal with any questions.
