About this event

We invite all community philanthropy organizations (community foundations, united ways and identity funds) to join us for our second session in this series to dig into what reparative action in community philanthropy can look like. Community philanthropy has a unique role as fundraisers and grantors in their communities. Given this positionality, how can community philanthropies implement a reparative action framework to repair harms in the community and support with healing?

During this session, we will hear from Kaci Patterson, who will guide us through a detailed examination of her framework on reparative action, case studies on implementing this and time for folks to work through what practice and implementation of this in your foundation can look like.

In this session, we will:

  • Continue learning from session one on what reparative action and healing can look like in the context of community philanthropy

  • Explore examples and case studies of how to implement a reparative framework into your work

  • Identify ways you can incorporate this into your role and community philanthropy organization, as well as practical next steps to take to bring this work back to your communities and advance healing and repair.

Speaker

Kaci Y. Patterson, Founder and Chief Architect, Social Good Solutions

Who Should Attend?

While this session is intended to address the conversation of repair from the unique vantage point of community philanthropy, any funder/grantmaking organization/individual donor who has a personal or organizational interest in learning more about reparative action is welcome to attend. If the price of the event is a barrier to attending please reach out to Danielle Crystal.
