The Position: Executive Support & Board Liaison

The Foraker Group seeks a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills to provide critical support to Foraker’s President & CEO. This is an opportunity to serve as a logistical rockstar while acting as a trusted thought partner to the President & CEO in managing important relationships, including Foraker’s Board of Directors. The ideal candidate has exceptional interpersonal skills and is a detail-orientated problem solver with a proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Role Responsibilities: 

Key Responsibilities

Executive support

  • Serve as lead on administrative support and scheduling for Foraker’s President & CEO.
  • Hold a deep knowledge of Foraker’s internal and external offerings and can seamlessly coordinate calendars, classes, and meetings.

 

Board relations

  • Serve as logistical point-of-contact for Foraker Operations and Governance Boards, board committees and the Sultana Board.
  • Manage board manual and related materials; shape and grow board support processes and procedures.
  • Serve as lead on board logistics, including scheduling meetings, communicating necessary information, maintaining board records and contact lists, supporting travel arrangements, and setting up in-person and virtual meeting spaces.
  • Prepare board packets and maintain the board website.
  • Participate in meetings with executive and board leadership, including some local and statewide travel; take minutes at all board and committee meetings.
  • In partnership with the President & CEO, support the boards in accomplishing their goals and moving projects forward.

Relationship & Philanthropy Management

  • Support the Foraker team and provide exceptional customer service while in the office and during in-person meetings and events.
  • Support the Operations and Education Coordinator in responding to questions and requests received from the website’s contact page.
  • Provide administrative fundraising support to the Director of Philanthropy, including updating the donor database and drafting and mailing thank you letters.
Candidate Qualifications: 

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate

Skills and Experiences:

  • A minimum of 5 years of high-level administration experience; prior experience working for a nonprofit is preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom, and other relevant software
  • Demonstrated ability to establish trust through integrity, transparency, and impeccable follow-through
  • Ability to advise and make recommendations to leaders of a complex organization
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and scheduling skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel to urban and remote locations as duties require
