Role Responsibilities: 

Job Summary:

 

Responsible for performing a variety of general human resources functions in support of and in coordination with the Human Resources team and organizational strategic goals. Manage and maintain employee records, create internal control on processes, assist with payroll processing, and provide project management support on major HR initiatives. Manage reports, compliance records, surveys, maintain, and update files and records pertaining to position descriptions, employee handbook, standard operating procedures, training, performance reviews, and career development and succession plan programs. Prepares written correspondence and completing quarterly hiring, termination, racial equity statistics, and other special reports and projects.

 

Compensation:

 

The pay range for this job is $67,404 - $70,951.

Essential Duties:

 

Recruiting and Hiring:

  • Support effective recruitment and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified talent for UWKC.
  • This may include scheduling, preparing interview or candidate selection materials, reviewing applicants, completing background checks or other pre-employment tasks, and assisting new hires through onboarding.
  • Publishes job postings once approved, internally or externally, as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with departments, IT, and NetTech for new hire set up, permissions, and equipment.

 

Benefits:

  • Reviews benefit eligibility and enrollments for compliance and completed enrollment tasks throughout the benefits portfolio.

Budget and Invoicing:

  • Assists with HR Budget and expense tracking.
  • Collects and reviews all incoming invoices, assists in auditing benefit invoices to current census, ensures correct coding, submits to Accounting.
  • Assists in monthly budget reconciliation and reclassing debits as needed.
  • Tracks all training budgets and expenses for Human Resources training and all training provided by Human Resources to the organization. Works with accounting to reconcile all training-related expenses.
  • Administers, processes, and tracks HR training credit card purchases with Administrative Assistant.

 

Administrative:

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, work assessments, and AGILE events. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles inquiries from applicants, employees, supervisors, and outside contacts, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate Human Resources Manager. This may include reviewing and assigning tickets within the Human Resources ticketing system (Helpdesk 365), email, or in person.
  • Supports, collects, and edits HR related content on SharePoint. This may include updating UNet, Human Resources folders, Employee Files, or other online applications.
  • Supports HR Managers in All Staff presentation preparation, including staff anniversaries, staff compliment drawings, shared information, and upcoming events and training.
  • Supports HR Managers in gathering, confirming, and organizing information as required for Quarterly Board Reports, Annual Audits, and all Surveys.

 

General:

  • Supports CHRO and HR Managers in creating and implementing Team and Organizational Development Plans, Succession Plans, Roadmaps, and Strategy Workplans.
  • Supports HR Managers in employee recognition programs.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Supports HR Managers in employee changes and updates, recording events, compiling appropriate approvals, and ensuring these items are correctly transmitted into payroll.
  • Collaborates with departments, IT, and NetTech for out-going employee return of property and termination of access and permissions.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • Proven advanced level skills with MS Office suite of programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook is required). SharePoint and Visio experience desirable.

Education and/or Experience:

 

Associate degree or equivalent in business management, human resource management, or a related field is preferred. Two to four years’ office administrative experience is required. At least one year’s experience working in a Human Resources or related environment is preferred. S/PHR certification a plus.
