Hiring Range: $87,000 to $97,000, depending on experience.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Six years research and prospect management experience with a preference for candidates who also have major and principal gifts fund-raising experience.
- Relevant bachelor’s-level education credentials, such as a degree in Business or another related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education in lieu of a degree.
Travel (<5%):
- Travel is not frequent but may be required on occasion. Examples include regional travel for in-person strategy sessions or for professional development opportunities.
Working Conditions and Safety:
- Comfortable office environment.
- Physical effort includes prolonged use of keyboard/monitor and occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs. May require prolonged sitting or standing.
- Report all injuries, illnesses, or accidents to your supervisor as soon as possible and within 24 hours.
Remote Work:
This position will have the opportunity to work remotely up to two days per week when doing so aligns with the responsibilities of the position. During the initial training period, this position may work more frequently in the office.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hiring Range: $87,000 to $97,000, depending on experience.
- Salary offers are determined in conjunction with an internal pay equity assessment. This initial hiring range reflects our starting offer based on your skills and experience. It’s important to note that this is just the beginning; our overall salary structure offers additional opportunities for growth and advancement based on performance and development within the role, as well as resources available.
- This is a full-time, exempt position.

About You:
- Knowledgeable: You are knowledgeable about major and principal gifts fund-raising and have direct experience in research and prospect management tools to help identify prospects and advance donor conversations. You have demonstrated knowledge of institutional advancement best practices. You’re highly proficient with advancement research resources and techniques, MS Office, integrated databases, and project management tools.

Job Summary and Responsibilities:
The Principal Gifts Manager works as a strategic partner with front-line fundraising staff to provide management of prospect portfolios through research and strategy support. The Principal Gifts Manager is responsible for the active management of current donors who have made gifts of $1M+ and the development of a prospective principal gift pipeline to facilitate new giving and connections in alignment with OCF’s growth goals and to increase funds in OCF’s main funding areas.
Oversee Principal Gifts Portfolio and Pipeline (50%)
- Assist in proactively identifying major and principal gift prospects with a focus on assessing capacity and connections to OCF.
- Assist frontline fundraising staff in prioritizing prospect portfolios and encourage the timely review and assignment of newly identified prospects.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date information on prospects and donors.
- Track and disseminate news and information about top donors and prospects.
- Prepare and regularly update progress reports to the Philanthropic Services Leadership Team.
Philanthropic Services - Principal Gift Strategy and Solicitation Support (30%)
- Lead individual and group strategy sessions focused on principal gift donors/prospect strategy.
- With the Business Analyst, develop suite of reports that assist in the management of OCF’s overall prospecting, forecasting and tracking of principal gift donors and prospect activity.
- Develop support systems to coordinate and drive successful principal gift engagement including assisting with briefing processes, identifying and assigning new prospects and working closely with the Marketing and Communications Team to produce case statements and other required materials for donor activity.
- Evaluate outreach strategies for effectiveness and make improvements resulting in successful outcomes.
Donor Research and Prospecting (20%)
- Research individuals, corporations and foundations using a variety of prospect research resources and preparing confidential biographical and financial profiles for review by staff and senior leadership.
- Demonstrate high proficiency with advancement research techniques including online searches, RelSci, LexusNexis, DonorSearch and other tools.
