The Shoreline Community College Foundation is seeking a highly organized and detail oriented individual to fill the role of Advancement and development Coordinator. Reporting directly to the Executive Director Foundation/Advancement, this role plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our institution's fundraising efforts.

 

Primary responsibilities include the following:

 

• Provides information and technical assistance to donors, constituents, stakeholders, staff, faculty, and outside entities regarding Foundation and Advancement program mission, policies, and activities; promotes the program to outside organizations and prospects:

• Monitors Foundation and Advancement program activities in relation to established program goals; determines variances from program standards and helps to create corrective actions when appropriate;

• Analyzes operations and performance using Foundation policies, procedures, practices, and conformance with rules and regulations; provides regular analyses and reporting;

• Attends meetings and/or conferences as the Foundation/Advancement representative; develops and makes public presentations on related topics, including talking with funders and providing detailed financial information;

• Confers regularly with SCC staff, donors, and outside entities (including banks, investment managers, and consultants) regarding SCC Foundation endowed and non-endowed accounts;

• Manages the entry and use of donor and constituent data. Responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the donor management system.

• Oversees gift receipting and donor acknowledgments in alignment with the donor stewardship plan;

• Responsible for accurately tracking donor-restricted funding and providing regular fund balance information to stakeholders;

• Manages and coordinates Foundation and Advancement program budgets and bookkeeping systems. Works in conjunction with outside consultants to maintain, improve, and safeguard program financial data. Provides regular financial reporting to the Foundation Board;

• Assists Annual Fund Manager by supporting fundraising initiatives and appeals, reporting activities, gift entry and receipting, special events, and projects as requested.

• Contributes to written materials, website updates, social media postings, editing, and proofreading as requested.

• Coordinates production of printed collateral and promotional materials - may generate lists, request quotes, draft content, manage proofs, and/or write and edit copy.

• Directs the services of volunteers, including recruitment and onboarding.

• Acts as a liaison for the SCC Foundation board, including managing meeting agendas, minutes, board work sessions, and work plans.

• Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications: 

Qualifications

 

Required Education & Experience:

 

• Highschool graduate (or equivalent) AND

• Two (2) years of experience with foundation/development programs OR equivalent education/experience

 

Knowledge Of:

 

• Microsoft Office applications such as SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word programs

• Donor Perfect Online or similar donor database system.

• Best practices in bookkeeping, fund reconciliation and budget maintenance.

 

Skill In:

 

• Fostering a climate of equity and belonging through multicultural awareness and responsiveness.

• Time management, organization, and ability to meet competing deadlines/priorities.

• Entering and/or retrieving data accurately in computerized record keeping systems.

• Handling difficult/sensitive situations, using sound independent judgment within legal guidelines.

• Writing/editing/proofreading clear and concise materials resulting in effective oral and written communication with individuals inside and/or outside of the College.

• Establishing/maintaining effective working relationships at all organizational levels.

• Ability to work with a diverse group of students, staff, and the public in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner

 

Conditions of Employment

 

Physical Work Environment:

he College is currently providing services in a mixed modality of operations (both online and in-person services are offered). This position will perform work in a standard office setting, use standard office equipment and physically attend meetings both on and off campus. Please note, there may be limited opportunities for online work depending on program or area needs. If authorized for online work, employees will need to provide their own workspace and internet access, noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs.

 

Terms Of Employment/Salary:

This position is allocated to pay range $42,538 - $56,662 under the Washington State Office of Financial Management higher education salary schedule. Salary placement for new employees is determined by the College. This position works 40 hours per week, with a schedule dependent upon department needs. Hiring of this position is contingent on available funding as determined by the College President.
