Today, Philanthropy Northwest joins countless across the country in celebrating the values of truth, justice, dignity and compassion that radiated from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., his teachings of service and love for humanity.

As one of America's greatest champions of racial and social justice, Dr. King's conviction and courage also remind us that in the face of bigotry and hate, it is our responsibility to act.

These values underprin Philanthropy Northwest’s diverse membership, and help underscore the many roles that philanthropy can play in remedying injustice and upholding the common good.

In honor of Dr. King, and his inspiring focus on hope and healing, Philanthropy Northwest is proud to share the below video showcasing a small sampling of the myriad individuals and groups that serve and support the common good in our region year-round.

Further, we hope you will join us on March 9, 2018 at Seattle University for an important conversation on racism with National Book Award Winner Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, author of Stamped From The Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America. Visit our events page to learn more and register today!
