Each year, Philanthropy Northwest works to create an annual conference experience that reflects, honors and celebrates the diversity of our region and membership. While a large part of the annual conference experience depends on our curating a robust, dynamic program for sharing and learning amongst peers, we also know that the conference location and a sense of place matters.

In recent months, with AC2017 in our rear view mirror, our team set out to assess where we’ve been and where our learning community should go next.

Recently, we revealed how our thinking came together by announcing Boise, Idaho as the location of our annual conference in 2018. Watch here:

There is much to love about the city and its local environs. In our selection, we were drawn to its complex history and unique, present-day priorities—which together shape the city’s cultural, economic and philanthropic practices in compelling ways. We are excited to unpack and appreciate the details with you moving forward, particularly as we build out our conference program.

To that end, I encourage you to connect with and get to know Elyse Gordon, our new program manager on point to organize the annual conference in partnership with Lyn Hunter and Maya Thornell-Sandifor. Elyse brings great passion for the cause, plus a strong background in teaching and social justice-focused philanthropy. We’re lucky to have her on our team!

So, mark your calendars for October 2-4, 2018 and stay tuned for details on early registration (coming soon!).

We look forward to seeing you in Boise!
