Philanthropy 101 is a five-part virtual series that helps all staff new to philanthropy better understand the sector. In this interactive course, you will discover the history of philanthropy, review a foundation's leadership and governance, learn an overview of grantmaking, debate the current big issues in philanthropy and explore the various roles within philanthropy. Philanthropy 101 takes place over five interactive online sessions designed for accessibility across our six-state region!
Who Should Attend?
Anyone who has joined the philanthropic sector within the last one to two years or is interested in a refresher; open to the entire range of disciplines within the field, e.g., assistant to the president, program officer, chief financial officer, controller, human services director, trustee, program assistant, among others.

Each session will run from 10 am - 12 pm and will be packed with information, group interaction, peer sharing - and even a little break! The five modules will build on each other, and participants are expected to commit to attending all five. Group size will be limited to better support cohort learning.
