We’ve brought together inspirational philanthropic leaders to help us make sense of where, as a sector, we go from here. No doubt, philanthropy has pivoted in amazing ways to address the dual crises of a pandemic and a historic racial reckoning. We know, however, that there is so much more we can do: make philanthropic practices that were urgent and temporary in a pandemic more commonplace and permanent; support long-term systems change; and stay more fully committed to POC-led organizations during and after the height of a national racial protest. How do we rebuild philanthropy in this new era and new “normal” to support true racial equity, and equitable economies and systems that provide for those most impacted by COVID-19 and structural racism?
