Take the next step in making your grantmaking more equitable.
Considering diverse perspectives and experiences is critical to effective grantmaking and foundation programming – which is why we’ve developed a staff training for organizations that are looking to increase equity in their grantmaking practices.
Grantmaking with an Equity Lens (GEL) is a three-hour virtual, interactive workshop that gives your board, trustees or staff the space to slow down, reflect and consider your workflow and how you can facilitate a more equitable and inclusive grantmaking process.
What will your team get out of this training?
In this hands-on workshop, you and your team will:
- Gain an understanding of racial equity and intersectional identities in the context of philanthropy.
- Identify ways to apply an equity lens to design programs and grantmaking strategies that are inclusive and accessible to Black, Indigenous and/or People of Color communities and under-resourced populations.
- Leave with skills and tools to apply an equity lens in your role and grantmaking practice.
We know that all organizations are at different points in their equity journey, which is why Philanthropy Northwest will work with you to customize this training to ensure your organization gets the most out of this time together.
Who is Grantmaking with an Equity Lens for?
GEL is designed for mid- to senior-level foundation staff or trustees who are early in the process of applying equity into their grantmaking practices and program development. While you will examine your work as a team, GEL is designed to focus on a person's individual role and agency in the practice of equity in grantmaking.
What's the cost of the program?
