June 24 Deadline for Applications for Investing in Innovation Program
Does your education grantee know about a current funding opportunity from the U.S. Department of Education? Its 2014 Investing in Innovation (i3) competition is now underway with a deadline for scale-up and validation applications on Tuesday, June 24th.
The i3 program invests in strategies that can help close achievement gaps and improve educational outcomes for high need students. This year, school districts and nonprofit organizations, in partnership with districts or schools, are eligible to compete for nearly $135 million. As in years past, the program includes three grant categories: Development, Validation and Scale-up.
Visit the I3 website for more information including an overview of the grant competition. The development application period has ended, but the deadline for scale-up and validation applications is June 24.
Validation grants for projects with moderate evidence of effectiveness can provide a grantee with up to $12 million.
Scale-up grants will provide up to $20 million to fund projects with strong evidence of effectiveness and enable expansion across the country.
Eligible organizations include school districts and nonprofit organizations acting in partnership with districts or schools.
Education funders please share this news with your grantees to encourage applications.
