As a fourth-generation Seattleite whose family has lived in this region for nearly a century, Jill is passionate about contributing to a more just future where all communities can thrive in the Northwest. As the CEO of Philanthropy Northwest, Jill is energized by bringing people, resources and great ideas together to build a dynamic philanthropic network that advances greater equity and racial justice. Jill's commitment to this work is inspired by her own family history's resilience and experience with the unjust internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. After completing her graduate work at Princeton's School of Public and International Affairs, Jill spent the first part of her professional life in public service working in both state and local government before serving in various leadership capacities at a global foundation in Seattle.
Jill is raising two teens alongside her husband and is the family's dog walker. She recently hung up her running shoes for the occasional pickleball racquet, and whenever possible takes in the beauty of the northwest with her skis or hiking boots.
