On Tuesday, November 18, we held our annual member meeting at the Independent Sector conference in Seattle.
We were thrilled to present our Mary Helen Moore volunteer of the year award for 2014 to Karri Matau of Greater Everett Community Foundation for her incredible work on helping Snohomish County recover from the March landslide in Oso, Wash.
The centerpiece of the annual meeting was a conversation among a panel of regional foundation trustees, led by Marguerite Casey Foundation CEO, Philanthropy Northwest Board Member and Independent Sector Conference Co-Chair Luz Vega-Marquis and featuring Hyeok Kim of Northwest Area Foundation, Sven Haakanson, Jr. of First Alaskans Institute, Mary Craigle of Montana Community Foundation and Casey Woodard of Woodard Family Foundation.

Philanthropy Northwest CEO Jeff Clarke offered some brief remarks, reflecting on the year thus far and looking into the future of our ongoing evolution as a learning community.
