The Foundation & Corporate Giving Manager will work with Northwest Center leadership and programs to grow philanthropic support of our mission. Reporting to our Chief Development Officer, this role will have a dual focus on donor retention and growth, leading integrated strategies for corporate philanthropy and sponsorships, government grants, support from private foundations, and workplace giving campaigns.

Success in this role will require the people skills needed to advance collaborative relationships, attention to detail needed to craft winning proposals and adhere to reporting requirements, and the ability to thrive whether working independently or as part of a team.

 

Location: Renton, WA
Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday
Starting Salary Range: $84,735.24 - $93,631.00 per year 
Full Salary Range: $84,735.24 - $102,526.16 per year

Role Responsibilities: 
  • Set multi-year revenue goals, implement fundraising plans and strategies, measure and report on progress, and adjust work plans as needed to meet ambitious goals.
  • Complete written grant and sponsorship proposals and reports for submission to foundations, corporations, and other institutions.
  • Manage a portfolio of institutional donors and develop multi-faceted solicitation and stewardship strategies to deepen and broaden their philanthropic and programmatic support.
  • Develop relationships with representatives at foundations, corporations, and other institutions. Conduct research and coordinate meetings to identify potential donors and strengthen relationships with key institutional donors.
  • Champion and represent Northwest Center to identify and cultivate new partnerships.
  • Liaise with key program staff and administrators at Northwest Center to obtain input on grant proposals and reports. Partner with the Finance Team to build a budget at the proposal stage and track spending and impact for donor reports.
  • Support broader development initiatives and programs as needed.
Candidate Qualifications: 
  • 4+ years of experience writing successful grant proposals for a nonprofit, preferably one that serves people with disabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills. Ability to develop long-term plans, set objectives, and track progress. Familiarity with the concepts of move management is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze, draw conclusions, and plan next steps based on results and data.
  • Collaborative approach and a strong team-oriented style balanced by the ability to uphold deadlines and hold colleagues accountable.
  • Proficiency with office technology and information systems (including Google Workspace) and donor databases, preferably Salesforce for nonprofits.
