About this event
As part of Philanthropy Northwest's commitment to family foundations, we are pleased to share with you this opportunity from Resource Generation. Resource Generation organizes young people with financial wealth to leverage resources and privilege for social change. They are holding their seventh annual Transforming Family Philanthropy Retreat: A Retreat for the Next Generation of Leaders in our area in May.
Here are the details from Resource Generation.
What is Transforming Family Philanthropy?
A two and a half day retreat designed to connect, educate, and inspire young leaders involved in their family foundations or family giving. Workshops will cover aligning values with giving and investments, taking on leadership as a young adult, working well with grantees and tackling difficult family dynamics. The conference will strongly center race and racial justice, and how that applies to both interpersonal and structural dynamics in philanthropy.
Who Attends?
The retreat is for young people between the ages of 18 and 40 who participate in, or intend to participate in, their family's philanthropy and care about social, economic and environmental justice. We welcome both people who are new to philanthropy and those who are more seasoned.
When is it?
May 29, 2015 through May 31, Bainbridge Island, Wash.
What will you gain from it?
- A community of other young people involved in family philanthropy who are excited about social, racial, economic, and environmental justice
- Skills building and learning opportunities in an array of philanthropic and social justice issues
- Access to one on one time with experts in the fields of philanthropy and social change
Register today! Registration closes on April 22nd!
