About this event

Join the Alaska Funders Group for a special session with The Foraker Group about statewide economic and capacity trends. The Foraker Group serves as the state association and capacity building organization for nonprofits and tribes across Alaska. This call will be an opportunity for the Alaska Funders Group to hear key findings of Foraker’s Nonprofit Economic Impact Report and the central role Alaska nonprofits play in the state’s economy.

As The Foraker Group's CEO, Laurie is involved in work she loves with people she admires and respects. Laurie is passionate about the power of the nonprofit sector to change lives, improve our environment, secure our economic opprotunities, provide essential arts, cultural and educational experiences and partnering to ensure healthy communities. Laurie is committed to connecting nonprofit leaders across the state and sector to weave a network of positive learning, support and success. Laurie's work at The Foraker Group focuses on facilitating collaborations, providing board and leadership development and creating a positive culture of philanthropy within organizations. Laurie was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska and holds a bachelor's degree in English from Scripps College and an executive master's degree in nonprofit leadership from Seattle University.

 

Eligibility 

Participation is open to philanthropic organizations that are currently making grants in Alaska. This includes private and family foundations, corporate foundations and giving programs, community and public foundations, tribal corporations and nations, governmental grantmaking programs and CDFI institutions with a philanthropic focus. You do not need to be a Philanthropy Northwest member to participate but do need to represent an organizational philanthropic institution. Please do not join this meeting if you are part of a nonprofit organization or are an individual not affiliated with a grantmaking organization. If you have questions or are unsure about your eligibility, please contact JulieAnne Behar.
