Karen is a creative strategist who builds compelling brand stories to help mission-driven organizations make more meaningful connections with their audiences. She is passionate about nurturing a storytelling culture at Philanthropy Northwest and sharing our network’s impact through digital media. Karen comes to Philanthropy Northwest with experience working in city government and the nonprofit sector.

Karen lives in Seattle, Washington with her husband and dog but is originally from Baltimore which still holds a special place in her heart, especially when it comes to baseball – go O’s! She enjoys hiking, snowshoeing and camping with her family and is a former Outward Bound Instructor, and currently serves on the board of Northwest Outward Bound School. She loves cooking and baking, and you’ll often find her in the Ballard neighborhood eating Danish pastries.
