Rachel is all about creating systems, processes and policies that help mission-focused organizations thrive. She equally loves her work, balancing the financial, cultural and system needs of Philanthropy Northwest and her home life as a mother to a cartwheeling kindergartener, daughter, sister, friend and leader at her local church. Raised in Tacoma, Washington, Rachel attended Seattle University and started her work life as a grant writer, before working for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Grants Inquiry and HIV Teams. She then had the privilege of living and working in Botswana, leading grant management, business development and strategy efforts for a public health organization. Rachel also received her MBA from the University of Cape Town.
