2018 Annual Report

2018 Annual Report

For Philanthropy Northwest, 2018 was a phenomenal year of learning and growth alongside our network as we continued to come together in supporting vibrant futures for our region’s communities. Philanthropy is a shared journey. Along with 170 fellow grantmakers, you created greater collective impact through shared learning and collaborative action.

Over 650 of you of joined us for member-driven programming that sparked new ideas, conversations and partnerships. More than 300 colleagues met at our annual conference in Boise, an attendance record! The Giving Practice provided customized solutions to over 70 philanthropic institutions and launched a full-day impact investing workshop that brought together over 40 staff and trustees across the region.

We grew internally in several areas including The Learning Network and public policy teams. These staffing expansions enabled us to provide more opportunities for engagement, resources and support for you, our member network – including engaging with 50% of our members on a region-wide effort to ensure a fair and accurate count for Census 2020.

It was also a year of organizational learning as we leaned into our diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) journey, publicizing our commitment to diversity and inclusive futures for communities.

Our approach doesn’t change, but our services and events constantly evolve because we never stop listening to our network. That is why our membership keeps growing and new opportunities for collaboration continue to emerge. Thank you for being part of our community. We look forward to doing even more, together, in the years to come.
